How Rotion integrates with your systems

Rotion runs alongside your existing systems, not instead of them. It connects to ERP, WMS, and transport systems like SAP and Odoo, and covers what they leave open: per-asset history, loss patterns, and partner balances for returnable transport items (RTIs), returnable containers, RPCs, totes, and dunnage. Integration runs through Rotion's REST API and data imports.

No. Rotion runs alongside ERP, WMS, and transport systems like SAP and Odoo. Those systems handle orders, stock, and routes; Rotion adds what they leave out: a history per crate, pallet, keg, or IBC tote, loss patterns across the loop, and partner balances that stay current on every scan without spreadsheet work.

Master data stays aligned across systems without forcing partners onto the same stack. Not every partner needs an integration at all: handovers can be confirmed via web or mobile, as described in how a rollout works.

Rotion has a documented REST API with an OpenAPI specification, covering events and master data: assets, products, stages, and the lifecycle events that move them. Systems authenticate with organization-scoped API keys that carry an expiry and usage tracking, and events can be ingested in bulk, so scanners, gateways, and partner systems write into the same record your teams scan into.

The same API works in both directions: your systems can push events into Rotion, and read circulation data back out for reporting or billing in the tools you already use.

Fleet lists, partner tables, and historical data come in through structured imports from CSV or Excel files, run together with the Rotion team during onboarding so mappings are verified rather than guessed. After go-live, the API and the scan apps keep the record current; imports remain available for bulk changes like adding a purchased fleet.

ERP/WMS integrations are available on the Scale plan and up. Full API access for events and master data is listed on the Custom tier of the plan comparison, alongside deeper ERP/WMS/PLM integration depth. Rotion is hardware-agnostic. Scans at issue and return run on ordinary phones or the scanners you already own, and QR codes, barcodes, and RFID all work, alone or mixed. Labels and serials already on your assets keep working wherever they can be mapped in, so relabeling and new hardware are not requirements. A QR-based return point can run without staff.

Rotion identifiers are GS1-compliant asset IDs, so assets stay interoperable across partners and systems without vendor lock-in. SSCC batching moves a stack or full load past a checkpoint with a single scan while every asset inside keeps its own record, and GS1 Digital Link connects a scanned code to the asset's digital record on the web.
